Ghum (also spelt Ghoom) is a small craggy neck of woods in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region of West Bengal, India built in 1879-1881.It is located about 6 km from Darjeeling Railway Station. It is situated at an altitude of 2,225.7 metres (7,407 ft).Tiger Hill is 5 km from Ghum and is located 1,100 feet (340 m) higher than Ghum.

The place is the home of the Ghum Monastery and the Batasia Loop, a bend of the Darjeeling Himalayan railway.Train starts in Ghoom and goes down the hill following the car road, crossing it several times, and ends up in Darjeeling. The guides and locals all called it the "toy train" whenever they talked to us about it .On the Ghum-Sukhiapokri road, at an altitude of 7,900 feet (2,400 m) stands a huge isolated rock providing a scaled view of the Balsan Valley and the hills around it. Garg World, an amusement park is the latest attraction.
